The Effectiveness of Acupressure and Fenugreek Therapy in Increasing Breast Milk Production in Postpartum Mothers: Literature Study

Inadequate breastfeeding leads to a lack of nutritional intake by infants. Reduced breast milk secretion can be caused psychological and physiological factors. Not getting enough increase the risk gastrointestinal infections, obesity in babies. It also reduce level intelligence children, infant mortality. This study was literature review with sample 10 journals, including ScienceDirect, PubMed, Google Scholar. The keywords fenugreek OR trigonellas Foenumgraceum AND acupressure shiatsu zhi ya chih feeding were used. exclusion criteria publications that older than years, those irrelevant titles, inaccessible full text, language other English Indonesian, had incorrect population, not an RCT journal, case-control study, quasi-experimental study. results showed from total therapy found journal numbers 1 (Egyptian), 2 (Iranian), 3 4 (Indian). Increased production p-value <0.005, but number considered most effective as seen variables Acupressure journals 6 7 (Indonesian), 8 (Indonesian) equally significant increasing 10, presenting ST points 17 18 which done every days for weeks significantly higher value. To conclude, both contribute production.
